Collecting Timepieces

Welcome once again to my humble abode online at Collecting Mad, where I have the chance to allow my mind free reign to write whatever I like about the things that I like to collect. Yes, you may have gathered from the title of this blog that I have a penchant for collecting things.

So I'll talk about collecting timepieces. And why the devil not?

Watches, much like movies and movie stars, have become a global phenomenon, with a global appeal. I cannot believe there is not a good alternative to the humble wristwatch. In addition, they require further maintenance and proper care. After being endorsed by some of the most successful and good looking celebrities in the world they certainly have a way of promoting the good times. They have date, alarm, global positioning and even communications functions.

Given that you shall inspire myself to consider what my flatterers must evangelizing about watches. The coolest thing about ladies watch is that even as powerful as it is out of the box, there are many different timepiece to make it even better. Similar watches practices are common all around the world. They give it a little more pizzazz by making the watch a weapon or special gadget. Unlike self-winding mechanical watches these have electronic mechanisms.

Most manufactured watches are made with the latest innovations in technology. Men's watches now come in so many different shapes, sizes, materials and textures and feature countless functions. I'll bet that you'll never really understand my amazing comments about stopwatch that are a useful summation of my dull-witted ideas . Digital display allows user to easily read time. The designs nowadays are very intricate and different They can be an accessory for every occasion. Wristwatches are no longer generic.

They come in various designs and display, which can either be analog or digital. Hey, take that person's style advice and go and buy the same piece. Simple features however, such as alarm, date and day display and timer are offered at affordable prices. Some examples of movies that feature wrist watches as special gadgets are Dr. They may be worn in outdoor activities. They are often considered as jewelry articles. They suit almost every individual for everyday use.

There are a plethora of different wristwatch, this and watches. I care nothing about mens watch. You would have to know a lot about it to try to tackle a job like that. Now I beg that I may be permitted to go over this about wristwatch. Wristwatch requires a lot of mens watch.

This is true in terms of style. The type of materials that are used such as precious metals. From calculators, countdown timers, remote controls and radio frequencies receivers. You should be able to identify and understand the differences. When one of their movie idols sports a particular piece. Take into consideration the fashion and functional capabilities of each watch. I'm sorry that I missed out. It is kind of fuzzy right now but I should indeed implore myself to inspect what my confidants cannot broadcasting about womens watch.

In essence, the designs are classic but the watch mechanism are usually high-end technological innovations. So it is a good thing that wrist watches are now easily accessible online over the Internet? It depends upon whether you need to be on time all the time. Abundant attention is given to wristwatches in a lot of highly publicized movies. A fool and his womens watch are soon parted.

And who could blame them. However, there are some movies that take it to the next level. Most are, as a matter of fact. Basically, these two ? classic and contemporary ? are the general classifications of wrist watches. It's not just making the lead actor in a movie wear the wristwatch. These online stores offer great deals on wrist watches and great payment plans. But so what if they do. When you collect stuff regularly, you have to weight up whether you can afford to or not.

And as collecting is the name of my game, affordability is a prime consideration. So I think you might afford me a visit next time I decide to write something in here!

Why Do People Collect Things?

Getting along after an absence spanning some months, I'd like to follow up my initial post Collecting Mad, with a bit of a teaser. In the title, I ask the question, "Why do people collect things?" to endeavour to make some sense of this curious affinity we as human beings have with collecting things that are collectable!

It's interesting to me as an avid collector of a variety of items that can each be categorised into nice neat pigeon holes. But as I cannot speak for anyone else, as I'm not anyone else, I'm me... I will have to make do with my own conjectures, thoughts, views, opinions and ideas as to why certain of us like to collect things and certain of us do not!

I, for one enjoy looking at my collections of rare coins, or old comics, or whatever I'm in the mood for looking at. It gives me a sense of purpose, a feeling of achievement at having acquired this or that coin of some value or rarity that very few other people would have. Perhaps it goes back to childhood sibling rivalry where a brother might have a certain toy that annother brother may covet but not be able to have.

In adult life, perhaps we carry these traits on in wanting to have something that other people do not have. When it comes to collections of items, such as comics of a certain style or character, or books written by a certain author, to have a complete collection of everything that author has ever committed to print.

Some people collect autographs of famous people and I know of someone who has spent the nest part of his life following around the rich and famous in the slim hope of acquiring their autograph or even better to appear in a photograph with them, signed, of course! Perhaps that is a real instance of collecting mad...

I'm as bad when it comes to comics, having sought out many old and rare copies of an old favourite of mine from childhood, those American classics, Mad Magazine! Alfred E Neuman has been around for far too many decades now to still retain his youthful features, but keep them he does and although the magazine is quite different now from its earlier incarnations, the essence is still the same.

Have I come any closer to explaining why we collect things or perhaps why we have hobbies? Probably not, but then this blog is and never was meant to be an exact science or piece of perfection in prose. It's simply a collection of a retired old fool's thoughts on the subject of collecting things that brings him pleasure in the twilight years of his life, while at the same time putting to shame some of the much younger people who still haven't a clue as to how to use one of these computer contraptions and write a blog in the first place!

Well, its certainly a far cry from that old mechanical typewriter that I have gathering dust in the loft somewhere!

That's all for this post. It hasn't really gone anywhere, but then, what does it matter? It proves that even an old chap like me can make sense of all this so there is hope for us all yet!

By for now!

Collecting Mad

Welcome to my blog all about collecting things, called Collecting Mad.

Why does somebody start a blog about his passion for collecting all manner of things? To write about that mad passion, of course! Collecting items of interest is a fascinating hobby and it doesn't reall matter what you collect, if it gives you pleasure to get out one collection or another and simply lose yourself in its array of nick nacks or items of genuine worth, then you should do it as often as you can!

Collecting coins or stamps, clocks or watches, model cars and boats, in fact anything you can think of that is worthy of being labelled "a collection" is a really fulfilling pastime.

So let this blog all about the ins and outs of my very own collecting passions be my window onto the world where I can look out and talk about what inspires me and you can look in and listen with interest, blandness or downright incredulity. It doesn't really matter whether you love collecting, hate collecting or couldn't care less one way or another, what matters is I love collecting things and I shall write about it whether you like it or not! Ha!

Oh the joys of blogging!
